Name On Logo: FLO
Our Slogan
For an open heart, clear head and free body
What we do
I provide manual therapy, both in a traditional table setting and in a warm water pool. I offer intensive retreats called "inflection point" retreats designed to reset the trajectory of the clint's life. I also provide nutritional education and movement re-education. This is much closer to (traditional) osteopathic work and should not be equated to common massage or spa therapies.
Industry: Medical & Dental
Things to communicate through the design
1. Dynamic Stillness
2. Minimalism
3. Elegance
The target audience
My practice is nearly 100% word of mouth and spans all ages. Since I don't do traditional advertising, the logo can afford to have a mystique to it. It does not have to be too obvious in the literal description of my work, rather it should convey the qualities of Primary Respiration. Of serenity, stillness, oceanic tidal movement, deep shifting towards integration.
I will use this logo as a sign on my building (which is in a residential area and cannot be too sign like. it needs to be more like a sculpture) And I will use it on my website as a header element.
We like these fonts, colors and style
There are a couple of terms in the craniosacral therapy world. Primary respiration which is the very deep, oceanic tide of chi in the body, and dynamic stillness which is wu wei wu or the resolution of duality in movement without movement. (you'll either get it or not ;-)) THESE ARE THE QUALITIES OF FLO.
FLO is the basis for all positive development, or healing.
I pretty much think I want the letters to be the logo. Think Simple, graphic, elegant, minimal, spacious. Brushed nickel modern. I like the idea of the contrast between the square elements and the opposite implication of the word. But I'm open to inspired ideas.
Think architectural. I want the elevating yet deeply simple spiritual quality of a frank lloyd wright home or a Calatrava building, Or a John Lautner home.
I have included my feeble attempt at design. I think refining that direction might be just fine, but I'm open to something completely different as well. The photo included shows the building that I want to put the sign on. My current idea is that the sign will be simple brushed steel elements.
Also I am quite fond of Charles Eames, Knoll mid century modern, Bertoia, Platner, etc, and sacred geometric proportions.
If somehow you do see my current website, it's about to be replaced, do not take any inspiration from that!
Our design will be used on

Additional Info Added Dec 11, 2012
I am located in the high mojave desert of Southern California. Palm Springs modern is a big influence and my facility, particularly the interior reflects this.
I forgot to mention Breathwork as one of my skills, which again ties into the concept of FLO. Breath of life. Fluid interchange. Rhythms of Shiva....creation destruction...;-)
Just noticed that the pics I uploaded are squished in the horizontal plane. not sure what happened there as the files I have look fine. but the front of the building is a bit wider than the uploaded photo shows.
