The Philadelphia Greetings Company Logo Design Contest
Name On Logo: The Philadelphia Greetings Company

What we do
I own the reproduction rights to a collection of oil paintings featuring Philadelphia city-scapes (www.PhiladelphiaOnCanvas.net). I'm going to make postcards and greeting cards featuring some of these images to sell locally here in metropolitan Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA). The postcards and greeting cards will be in area souvenir shops and greeting card stores.
Industry: Retail

Things to communicate through the design
1. Quality.
2. Unique in the marketplace.
3. Philadelphia pride.

The target audience
First, I need to get souvenir shops and local greeting card stores to want to display these cards. And then I need regular people to see these, pick them up, and decide "Yes, I want this."

Retail shoppers will be tourists and also locals who feel pride in their city and want to share their pride with others by sending them my cards.

A jazzy logo will say to shop owners "This company is legit." And it will say to retail shoppers "Cool. I want this..." and "This is a quality product."

We like these fonts, colors and style
There are two paths to winning this contest. I am trying to decide between two different names:

1. The Philadelphia Greetings Company - I envision this logo to use old, Victorian style fonts.

2. Philadelphia Greetings - This can be whatever image you think is appropriate for a greeting card company that specializes in Philadelphia merchandise.

The logo will be on the back of the greeting cards.

Philadelphia is an old American city. It is considered the birthplace of liberty. It is where revolution began in the late 1700's. At one time it was a manufacturing powerhouse. It is now a city that is growing again and is on-the-move. There is a new feeling of pride here I believe, and the future is only going to get better for this city.

I always believe in allowing for artistic freedom with these contests. Very curious to see what the community here comes up with. How should my brand image look? What are your ideas?
