We provide professional support, leadership and enrichment for K-12 school library workers and programs in the state of Utah. We advocate for libraries and the role they play in supporting teachers and students.

Things to communicate through the design
1. We are an advocate for school libraries in Utah.
2. We promote collaboration between librarians, teachers, and students.
3. We promote the use of print and digital learning resources.
The target audience
School librarians in Utah. School and Government officials. All of the stakeholders in public education including teachers, parents, and students.
We like these fonts, colors and style
We need something that is education friendly but still professional looking. We would like the option of using the logo with or without the tagline.

Would like to use the logo with our name (Utah Educational Library Media Association), tagline, or just by itself.
The logo should represent literacy. Something easy to recognize.
During the design process the UELMA board members have come to a better understanding of what type of logo will work best for our organization. We want a logo that is iconic. It needs to be more abstract than what we originally thought. More like a brand that will stand the test of time and not become outdated.
In the beginning we were giving high marks to desings including books and technology. Now we are looking for something that is less literal. A brand. It needs to represent school libraries, literacy, and be instantly recognizable.
