Things to communicate through the design
1. Professionalism
2. Quality
3. Longevity

The target audience
We work as a subcontractor to some of the US's largest architects and general contractors. We also work directly for large and small enduser clients, primarily in the medical, governmental, education, and office environment fields.

We like these fonts, colors and style
If you do a google search for "mission style font" you'll see some ideas of what appeals to us, although that could somewhat pigeon-hole us to a very specific style. To be honest, we are open to all designs but require that they reflect an organization that has been around for quite some time and has multiple large, nationally-respected clients.

We prefer the colors navy blue and grey, but again, are open.

Additionally, the logo must work in large format on the back of a bright orange t-shirt, and in smaller format in the pocket area of the front. Our field installers, as a safety requirement, are required to wear these shirts while on site, and the logo must be clear. Do not worry about whether your design looks good on a bright orange t-shirt - the only time it will be is on these safety shirts.

We want to use this logo for the long term.

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)  (Mugs & Tshirts)

Additional Info Added Jul 23, 2012
Another idea: Incorporation of "old-school" architecture tools (compasses, for example) might lead to some interesting designs!

Good efforts so far, please do not get sidetracked by the orange safety shirt comment. We wre more concerned with how the logo will look on a white business card or stationery background, or on our web page.

Please make sure you are spelling the company name correctly - L2 Specialties, Inc.

Please note - we have chosen those with "elements we like", but we are not yet going to rank the designs - we don't want to stifle new ideas!
