42 Forge is a new umbrella brand for a number of companies with multiple focuses including business consulting, publishing, working with startups and short term creative projects.

The target audience
The logo will mainly be used in special occasions when the umbrella organization will be featured/discussed (as opposed to the various organizations that sit under the 42 Forge brand). We expect the logo to be used on the CEO's personal business card in pitch meetings, business to business discussions, etc. It will also be used as the home page logo for the umbrella company.
As most public awareness of our work will be through the logos of the other public facing companies, we want the 42 Forge brand to have a hint of mystery, secrecy, intrigue, etc. We want people asking .. "what exactly is 42 Forge?"
As this logo will mainly be used on business cards we would like to see a design that translates nicely to that format. We like creatively and are looking a logo that allows for this level of innovation when we design the final card:

We like these fonts, colors and style
Note that readers of Douglas Adams may have a slight concept advantage as "42" was revealed in the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as the meaning of "life, the universe, and everything".
While this is just back story to the company naming process, it may be helpful to understand that 42 Forge looks to be partners with people working on projects that are interesting and meaningful (hence the combination of the concepts of "forging" and "42").
