The target audience
My target audience is middle-to-upperclass homeowners. They tend to be younger, tech-savvy, involved, perhaps do-it-yourselfers who may feel intimidated or priced out of higher-end designers. I also market my services directly to construction companies, real estate agents, and other designers and architects.
We like these fonts, colors and style
This logo needs to walk a fine line between hinting at computer drafting technologies while not appearing cold or technical. Finding someway to incorporate the "art of the hand" and other more artistic design qualities with the more technical skills would be ideal. My concept is that the words themselves will either be the logo or a major part of it with DDieterich Design as more prominent than my tagline, though tying the 3 D's in my company name into the 3-D of my tagline could be interesting. I don't care if any of the D's are lower or upper case.
The logo should be small enough for a business card, simple, uncomplicated, but not too formal. I would like the concept of 3-D to be expressed very minimally, perhaps using depth cues, perspective, shadow, etc. I'm completely open and excited to see what you might come up with. The logo should definitely emphasize my design skills over the technical manner that I produce ideas.
Since I also do some sustainable design work, the color palette should probably tend warmer. I've been playing with a warm grey/brown and olive green scheme with some shots of oranges / reds but again welcome your creative input.
As a creative person myself, I look forward to your designs and will provide as much input as possible over the next 10 days to help you succeed. Let your imagination run wild....within reason.
