Veteran Employment Network Logo Design Contest
Name On Logo: Veteran Employment Network
Our Slogan
Made in America
What we do
The concept of a community is important.

At it's most basic level, VEN works with big industries (energy, transportation/logistics/freight, manufacturing, mining, construction, etc) to create short cycle training which targets newly discharged military veterans such that they earn credentials required for careers in those industries. We are an education-to-employment business.

That said, the basic DNA of this market, from the veteran to the veteran spouse, from the boot camp Drill Instructor to the Sargeant who fought beside you, from the squad to the Corps...this is a group who acts more like a community, a massive family who cares and defends one another... The Veteran Employment Network is really an ECOSYSTEM that will grow into multiple products & services.

But we must EARN TRUST if we are to crack into that market. We cannot be seen as "profiteers", we cannot be seen as "glad handing" or flag waving nut jobs... We need to be a credible solution to the needs of a veteran and his family.

We believe that starts with a JOB. From there, with that foundation in place, we can help veterans better deploy other benefits and entitlements. Without an income, benefits, and so on, veterans fall off a cliff into a world they don't understand. It's not that they don't want work, they simply don't know how to find it.

Things to communicate through the design
1. TRUST - credibility and patriotism
2. We deliver results as measured by a job offer
3. You defended the American Dream, it is your turn to live it...

The target audience
We are looking to assist military personnel with their TRANSITION out of the military and we believe a real job is the most essential component of a truly successful and lasting / effective transition (hard work, fair pay, benefits, and an opportunity to grow one's career).

So, ideally the soldier (or airman, Marine, sailor) is our target. That said, a military spouse is a major influencer, as are parents. Loved ones who fear that "johnnie" is lost, without resources, abandoned by those he fought with...

These are 20 "somethings" with a high school diploma, they marry a high school sweetheart and start a family. They are paycheck to paycheck, not desperate...in fact proud and naive...but without a job to pay the rent, put food on the table, pay the doctor bills...things fall apart fast. They believe that the job market will open its arms and pull them in...
