What we do
We are a NGO aimed at the protection of the wolf in the wild and in captivity, its research and the unbiased education of the general public. While a main focus lies on wolves in Germany, we collaborate and network with scientists and organizations on an international level.

One of our main principles is the use of scientifically valid information as a solid/neutral basis to communicate with the different lobbies involved with wolves (see audience).
Industry: Non-Profit

Things to communicate through the design
1. free wolves in an intact ecosystem
2. scientificity, unbiased education/information
3. networking and community

The target audience
We are targeting a very heterogenous audience, from wolf enthusiasts, scientists and state officials over livestock breeders and hunters to people that are not yet in touch with this topic (e.g. zoo visitors). Thus, the logo should be as unbiased as the information we strive to give out and reflect our openness to factual discussions, but still eye-catching and distinguishable.

We like these fonts, colors and style
The logo should include one or more wolves. We are open to all styles as long as it's not cartoonish or too cheesy/emotional.

We cannot quite imagine that any text, much less the bulky name of our organization, would fit the logo well. If you try to include it, we would prefer it to be detachable from the main logo.

In our old logo, we used two wolves running, which communicated things that are important to us: A minimum of two wolves are needed to found a new pack and to re-claim habitat where they were once eradicated. And as "the legs feed the wolf", running wolves seemed appropriate to use and it also symbolizes freedom. The old logo is attached for reference. However, the new logo does not have to be in line with the existing one.

The logo will be used in a variety of media, especially in our website redesign (www.wolves.de) and as a base of our new CI. It should be distinguishable even when printed monochrome, but should also look great on a website header.

Although we do not have an exact color palette, the color green has established as a main color for the GWA. Also, we are open to new and additional colors and use it as a base for the new CI.

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)  (Billboards & Signs)  (Television)  (Mugs & Tshirts)

Additional Info Added Feb 8, 2012
Just to further clarify: we are both open for modern, stylized logos with clean lines as well as more detailed works.

Also, the logo does not have to be monochrome - its shape and choice of colors should just make it still distinguishable if printed b&w.

We also think that our description above was misleading - we would definitely prefer a logo that goes without ANY text, or at least can go without any text easily - and if there is any text included, it should be our complete legal name ("Deutsche Wolfsgemeinschaft / German Wolf Association e.V.").
