Solera Brewery Logo Design Contest
Name On Logo: Solera Brewery
Our Slogan
Artisan Ales & Lagers
What we do
We use a combination of traditional styles and new takes on classic styles, along with new and interesting brewing and fermenting techniques. This is the formula that will appeal to everyone ranging from the average beer drinker to the most discerning palate. All of this will culminate at one of the most scenic locations in Oregon, Mt Hood Parkdale. The whirlwind of flavors, ambiance and fellowship will stimulate each patron, creating what craft beer is all about, the experience of drinking beer. One major component of our branding is incorporating the Solera style of fractional blending of fermented beverages. A good explanation of this process can be found at [Login to view URL]
We use local, and when available organic, ingredients to craft each beer we produce. Being located in the upper Hood River Valley enables us to utilize a vast array of local resources (Water, grain, native yeast, fruit - cherries, peaches, pears, apples) to use in the production of our beer. Maintaining these resources by having the smallest carbon footprint as possible is a cornerstone of our business.

3. All natural local ingredients

The target audience
One demographic is best described as individuals, generally males age 30 and up with upper to median income and usually have completed a higher educational degree. They have a vast knowledge of beer history, traditional styles, and various degrees of brewing processes. Most of these individuals are home brewers and some are very talented at this art. These individuals usually know the first and last name of the brewer at every brewery and are eager to sample that brewer’s new creation. Most are always looking for the newest artistic take on a traditional or not-so-traditional style.

Another demographic is described as individuals, typically an even mix of males and females, college age and into their mid to late 40’s. Some have children and enjoy beer for the simplicity of beer and the fellowship it brings with other beer drinkers. These individuals are as interested in the image and branding of a particular beer or brewery and tend to judge it on its exclusivity. These beer drinkers are eager to be the first to know about a new beer or a new brewery to share with their friends just as they are about sharing a secluded camping spot, or quaint bed and breakfast. This target market includes, not only beer drinkers from cities just outside of the Gorge like Portland, Eugene and Bend, but most of the tourists that visit the Mt. Hood area every year from other states.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Lean simple style that is easily recognizable. Retro fonts like Duvall or Art Nouveau. We will be using a lot of natural and rough cut wood and metal inside the pub using Forest Service and other area maps as accent decorations. We plan to use cross sections of wood for some signage and tap handles.

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)  (Billboards & Signs)  (Mugs & Tshirts)

Additional Info Added Nov 20, 2011
The uploaded image is the view from the back patio of our brewery. Would like to incorporate the orchards into the logo. Also preferential to logos that use elements of the Solera process such as barrels, aging or tulip glasses rather than bottles and pint glasses. We are looking for a modern edge to a rustic style of brewery. Would like to some designs that are not constrained by a circle border, and some without the tagline of "Artisan Ales & Lagers" We are more likely to focus on the word "Solera"
