What we do
- My non-profit organization, is starting a BIG-GAME, OFFSHORE FISHING TOURNAMENT. (Profits go to Gulf Coast Restoration Programs, etc. . .due to BP oil spill and Hurricanes Katrina, and Rita...).
- Fish species to be caught are: MARLIN, TUNA, WAHOO, MAHI-MAHI.
- This is the first (1st) one of many to come.
- It will take place in August of 2012, in the Gulf of Mexico, off of the Coast of the State of Louisiana.
- It is named "THE VINTAGE BIG-GAME CLASSIC TOURNAMENT" because of the fact that:
**ONLY ANTIQUE FISHING GEAR and TACKLE CAN BE USED TO CATCH FISH AND QUALIFY TO WIN**
*(I.E. - ONLY ANTIQUE FISHING REELS, RODS, LURES, AND MISC. TACKLE AND GEAR, ETC. . . CAN BE USED).
* This is a very serious TOURNAMENT for VERY SERIOUS fishermen and Anglers that will come from around the world, to fish on their Sport-Fishing Boats and Yachts for CASH, prize money, and gifts totalling over $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS!
- The TOURNAMENT consists of two (2) FULL fishing days, a PRE-Captain's Meeting and Cocktail Party (The day before the 1st day of fishing), as well as, a POST-AWARDS CEREMONY and catered food Banquet and Cocktail Party for ALL the fishing teams/members involved, on the final day!

1. This is a MAJOR, BIG-GAME/ OFFSHORE FISHING TOURNAMENT - catching only salt water species, such as, The BLUE MARLIN, TUNA, WAHOO, and MAHI-MAHI
2. THE SINGLE ASPECT OF THIS TOURNAMENT THAT SEPERATES THIS TOURNAMENT FROM ALL OTHER TOURNAMENTS IS THE FACT THAT: ONLY VINTAGE and/ or ANTIQUE FISHING TACKLE/ GEAR CAN BE USED TO FISH WITH AND WIN. (i.e. - VINTAGE AND/ OR ANTIQUE REELS, RODS, LURES, ETC. .
3. THIS, NOT-FOR-PROFIT TOURNAMENT, IS FISHED IN THE GULF OF MEXICO FOR SUPPORT AND DONATIONS TO THE GULF COAST RESTORATION PROGRAMS AND THE GULF OF MEXICO FISHERIES RESEARCH.
The target audience
-90% OF THE FISHERMAN (ANGLERS) ARE MEN (10% ARE SPLIT BETWEEN 30-40 YEAR OLD WOMEN AND KIDS - MOSTLY BOYS, UNDER THE AGE OF 18...).
-MEN'S AGES BETWEEN 18 YEARS OLD AND 50 YEARS.
-SERIOUS SPORT-FISHING ENTHUSIASTS WITH MIDDLE/ UPPER- MIDDLE TO HIGH LEVEL INCOMES.
-ALL TYPES OF "WHITE COLLAR" OCCUPATIONS (Drs, Lawyers, Business Executives, CEO's, ALL proffesionals with high paying jobs.
-75% own their Sport-Fishing boats or yachts.
-75% have done multiple tournaments before.
-95% are VERY EXPERIENCED fishermen and anglers.
-40% of the boats owners either have a "US Coast Guard Certified Captains License" themselves, or have/ have hired a licensed captain to be on board. As well as a 1st MATE.
-100% of the anglers have a LA state fishing licensce.
-80% belong to or are paying members of a Salt Water Fishing Organization or Club (usually Non-profit, fisheries research organizations).
- 90% Spend $10K's of thousands of dollars a year for fishing, fishing gear and tackle, boats, travelling.
- 100% HAVE NEVER DONE THIS TOURNAMENT BEFORE OR ANYTHING LIKE THIS TOURNAMENT - This is the first of its kind in the world!
- 75% are world travellers. 50% of those are 1st CLASS world travellers.
-95% of ALL participants EXPECT certain PROTOCOL and CERTAIN LEVELS of professionalism in everything that goes with the tournament.
** THIS INCLUDES a 1st CLASS LOGO on THE TOURNAMENT HATS AND T-SHIRTS, and BAGS, etc. . .
We like these fonts, colors and style
Ariel, block slant usually,
** BUT needs to incorporate the "VINTAGE ASPECT" in the logo. Font that is clean, easily read, "contemporary" with the idea of "old meets new. . ."
** KEEP IN MIND: VINTAGE TACKLE and BIG-GAME FISH in a contemporary Gulf of Mexico setting. . .
