What we do
We research, patent, license, manufacture, and sell enzymes and other products for a reaction (the polymerase chain reaction) that detects genes. For example, if a person is sick and a bacterium is suspected, our products help confirm or deny if the bacterium's DNA is present in a blood sample. There are also forensic applications, research applications, and environmental applications where finding genes efficiently is valuable. PCR is a method for analyzing DNA, and we make mutants of the enzymes that research scientists, medical techs and CSI techs use for this process in the lab. Our mutant enzymes are resistant to blood, dirt and other inhibitors in the DNA samples.
