What we do
In Australia, Calisthenics (also known as Australian calisthenics) is a team-based competitive performing art featuring elements of rhythmic gymnastics and ballet combined with a strong emphasis on theatricality (both musical and dramatic), costume, dance and musical interpretation. Since the 1950s Calisthenics has been an entirely female sport, however males have recently been re-introduced in the younger age groups. The art form was created entirely in Australia and can be easily differentiated from traditional calisthenics by its focus on competition and choreographed theatrical performance instead of simple synchronized exercise. The word itself comes from the Greek words for beauty and strength.
The Australian Calisthenics Federation (ACF) 2012 National Calisthenics Competition will be held in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.

Things to communicate through the design
1. Grace
2. Strength
3. Tropical ( Darwin - Northern Territory)
The target audience
Young female athletes aged 10 to 20, competing as Teams and Individuals at the National Competition located in Tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia.
We like these fonts, colors and style
The NT floral emblem is the Desert Rose ( a pink flower) , colours for logos are traditionally ochre due to the desert of the state, but colours related to Sunsets and the tropics would suit Darwin. Also Dragonflies / Butterflies might suit or Northern Territory birds eg Jabiru / Brolga.
Calisthenics logos often have a dancing figure, it can be incorporated but not necessary.
We would like a colour logo but also one that would suit a single colour print run for merchandise.
