What we do
A new type of social network/social calendaring experience for people that want to setup meetings and engagements.
The application is focused on making plans with friends or people that you want to interact with easily. Provides simple calendaring capabilities, easy to add people to your network, have your calendar be available for others to view, privacy settings. The ability to look people up and setup simple social engagements to hang out - adding location specific information for restaurants, and places etc..
Because the word oscial is Social with the S and O reversed, it would be cool to do a play on this in the way the text is designed i.e. a hand switching the words. I want the word to indicate challenging or disrupting the status quo, being a "change agent" - almost an anarchistic view of social - in terms of refreshing it, or redefining it.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Clever cartoony type text - open to different ideas. Something that would look good on a "black" themed app. Something that would look good on the iPhone as an app as well as on the web. Bold, controversial? Beautiful and easy to connect to.

As I look at some of the entries, I wonder if there's a play on the letter O in oscial...something to think about. Would be interesting for people to short form it as "O". thoughts? :)
The logo design will play a big role in the ui of the app overall. So I am interested in logos that also might be telling in how I actually design the app. Cutting edge for iPhone android and blackberry. I'd like to see the mobilencalendar concept portrayed as well the idea that with this app, your phone always keeps you aware of where you need to go and helps you make plans.! The slogan make plans is designed to illustrate that with this app, the simple task of making plans can be easy as he'll.
I'm a toker so half joking but maybe that can somehow appear subtly. I want something symbolic, simple, pretty, and legit looking. I'm ranking based on elements I like. Many of these are quite solid.
I like the idea of showing to social, showing connections to meetings, calendars, events, and activities. The idea is to also empowerment and simplicity. We want people to setup engagements with whomever, whenever in seconds.
I also am going to be building this very specifically for the "App" experience for iPhone/Android etc... so that look and feel would be greatly appreciated. We will also build a web client as well, but I am digging the app specific submissions.
I'd like to see some cooler designs on the text - I'm assuming the logo will be provided as a standalone PNG file that can be isolated to appear on different backgrounds.
In general - something that is more "fun" but also showcases these three themes would be ideal: mobile, social, planning
Keep them coming guys - still waiting on the winner. Something that is simple and attractive and that I can use to design an app around.
