What we do
Traditional Restaurant and Bar... very community oriented... in all respects a landmark.
Industry: Restaurant
Things to communicate through the design
1. Fabulous high end food
2. Community gathering place
3. welcoming atmosphere
The target audience
The client would like to bring in a younger hipper crowd, without alienating
their loyal (older) clientele. With that being said, they would still like it to be traditional and not overly modern.
We like these fonts, colors and style
I've attached a jpg of the current logo. We are seeking an "upgrade" of this logo design. The client is happy with her current color scheme but would like to eliminate the scripted font. We'd like to see options both with AND without the martini glass that is currently a part of the design. Again - the goal is to "spruce" this up, bringing it into the 21st century, while still keeping a traditional feel. Please also vist their current website as and additional reference.

Additional Info Added Apr 12, 2011
UPDATE: Client needs the "Restaurant & Bar" part to read like on sentence, with the R&B almost as big as Valley Inn, as they are not an "inn" and want to emphasize restaurant.
They are also suggesting the "Y" may be used as a martini glass with an olive... (but and this be done without being to cheesy? ). Also the logo needs to be in more of a rectangle, not oval, as they are looking to for it to also be the sign.
UPDATE: 4/11 As said above, this will be used as a sign as well as a logo... so client prefers a traditional square- the colors we are leaning to are dark Burgundy, gold, with maybe some light, but not neon green... add black if necessary.
Restaurant & Bar should not be minimized in relation to Valley Inn, but at the same time not be bigger- Client is also trying to minimize the "inn" but not so it is minuscule. Would also like to see some with the fill being white... ( i know i know, but I need to show them so they know it won't work.)
