Things to communicate through the design
1. I write
2. I stand out
3. I inspire
The target audience
Most of the people who hire me are companies who need to outsource their writing needs. They are probably 50-50 male female and are looking for someone who understands their needs and is able to operate without much hand holding. Many clients come from the association non-profit industry, but I work for a lawyer, a printing company, a financial management company, a water delivery service, a specialty food trade association and a well-known pediatrician.
Most of the people who hire me enjoy that I am very straightforward, very opinionated and a little sassy. My style does not appeal to accounting firms or people who are straight-laced.
We like these fonts, colors and style
My main website for my business is
[Login to view URL] This is the logo I'm looking to replace. I liked the letter Z that was a typewriter key, but I don't like the quill element anymore. My two other sites,
[Login to view URL] and
[Login to view URL] are both very cartoonish, and I do not want that look for my main look. But I do like use of colors on those sites. I don't want really bright colors, but a nice light blue chocolate brown or tangerine/brown combo would look nice, I think. I also like orange and green.
The first thing I'm planning to do is to revamp my business cards, since I just moved. After that, I will redo avenuez.net as well with the new look.
I'm fond of clean looks. I want the logo to look feminine but not overly girly or flowery. I always thought the Z in Avenue Z should have a little emphasis. My last name is Ziesenis, so that's where the Z came from. It would be cool but not critical to have a little icon that could be a favicon. It also works if the logo is simply a stylized version of the name.
