Name On Logo: Scarsdale Woman’s Exchange
Our Slogan
Since 1931
What we do
As a non-profit, we donate a portion of our sales to local charities. Our gift store was originally established to provide an outlet for artisans to sell their work. We have many unique items from our network of artists as well as baby and children’s clothing (ages 0-10), home goods and gifts. Please note that our store only carries new items, and is not a consignment shop, vintage/antique store, or second-hand store.
The Scarsdale Woman’s Exchange is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization founded in 1931.
Curated Boutique: The store is a feel good place to shop and offers a balance of boutique gifts and goods for households and children as well as artisan-made products, jewelry, jewelry dishes, tabletop trays, Christmas decor, children’s clothes and items. The handmade items are made by skilled artisans who knit, craft, and create unique items for the store.

Things to communicate through the design
1. Stylish, current, sophisticated, simple, and approachable
2. Feel good aspect of buying something you love in the store while helping those in need; the non-profit shop is a store where consumers can come in and enjoy shopping for themselves or others (gifting).
3. Contemporary, modern balanced with vintage shopping “attitude” as in the attached graphic.
The target audience
90% of customers are women.
Age range - majority are between 30-70 years old.
The goal for the organization is to attract more of the 30-40 year old audience in their area.
Located in the village of Scarsdale - upper middle class suburb of New York City.
We have foot traffic based on our village location, so the logo should grab attention from passersby who do not have prior knowledge of the store.
We like these fonts, colors and style
Use a horizontal oval shape. It needs to be a horizontal oval to fit with the shop exterior windows.
Use only a white background.
Include the store name and an image.
Show a child with a woman shopping with shopping bags in the logo.
Name should be easy to read, have an updated look – maybe in a print versus script/cursive.
Would we like name and image in the logos well as reference date established of 1931, or use a tagline of “Since 1931”.
Color profile should use gemstone colors: something bright, cheerful and fun yet sophisticated. No pastels.
Logo will be used: Digital, Print (Stickers for shopping bags), Name & logo decal on window, Sandwich board in front of store.
Our design will be used on
