What we do
American Realty Capital - Retail Centers of America, Inc., is an investment product known as a Real Estate Investment Trust, or "REIT." This REIT buys open-air shopping centers, that may include large "Big-Box" retailers, smaller specialty retailers, and/or things like grocery stores, places to eat, or perhaps entertainment venues, all within an open-air space. We acquire these retail centers throughout the United States.
Industry: Real Estate
Things to communicate through the design
1. Open, yet Strong
2. Contemporary
3. Retail
The target audience
As this is an investment, the audience will be potential investors as well as sophisticated financial advisors. They are all U.S. based, and are mostly successful, high net worth individuals.
We like these fonts, colors and style
First, the color scheme...my design layouts use various tints of the following two colors:
Dk Blue (C=90, M=35, Y=0, K=76)
Red (C=20, M=100, Y=100, K=45)
I would like the logo to be type & symbol combined in one cohesive element. I would rather they not be two separate elements if at all possible. I've included a jpg image to show you the direction I am going with the marketing materials, so that you can get a sense of the style.
Please feel free to contact me with any question,
Good Luck.

Please do not present logos that have the American Flag, or the American Flag colors, or the stars and stripes theme. Also I would also shy away from anything that looks like a pyramid, or symbols that look like dingbats.
Also, it appears that I was too brief in my explanation. So, to expand what I am looking for, let me suggest the following:
First off, please note that the words "Retail Centers of America" are of greater importance than "American Realty Capital." Also, please note that I consider the actual logo of primary importance and the type as secondary (even though I really want the complete package).
In terms of my thought process, I would suggest that you consider your experience in shopping and those artifacts and/or symbols associated with that experience as jumping off points when you are designing the logo. (try a receipt-looking logo, try a clothing tag looking logo, try something that looks like a fancy label on a cosmetic product...) You may also want to consider that as the attached photo contained in the creative brief shows various shades of the colors (I specified the darkest shade of the colors in the brief), so should the logo you are designing, utilize this same kind of stepped, color percentages.
