Name On Logo: Congregation Beth Sholom Preschool
Our Slogan
Where our children bloom(?)
What we do
its a preschool-- a pretty small one, not academic at all-- based on developing the inner voice and creativity of children. lots of music and art-- emergent curriculum (which means its developed on the fly based on what kids are interested in)
Industry: Education
Things to communicate through the design
1. community
2. trust
3. fun!
The target audience
parents and children ('boosters')-- san francisco location/demographic-- so fairly liberal (though not gay explicitly, as the current image kind of suggests), parents in their 30s, lots former new yorkers, kids ages 2-5
We like these fonts, colors and style
the attached image was created by a parent who is not a designer at all-- lots about it is all wrong, but lots about it has meaning--
letters on the petals are for each of the classes, center of the flower is the logo of the synagogue itself--
definitely the sizing of all elements, the colors and the fonts need to be better/more modern. the person who designed it was inspired by the partridge family logo, which does not resonate with most parents (even we are too young for that). the idea has broad approval though. perhaps a garden metaphor rather than an individual flower supports the idea of community a bit better? the tagline is negotiable, but does need to somehow personify who we are.
i like the idea of something more like the twitter logo-- which is fresh, equally appealing to young and old, but MODERN.
