What we do
sin·gu·lar
–adjective
1. extraordinary; remarkable; exceptional: a singular success.
Singular Technical Professionals is a group of consulting technical professionals. Most of us are engineers. We are all young and dynamic, and looking to break out of the typical "professional" career mode. So we've started a company to offer our services to companies that need professionals with unique skill sets - singular skill sets.
We have backgrounds as paramedics, military officers, search and rescue specialists, design engineers, product development engineers, marine engineers, naval architects and more. We all have communication skills that exceed what is normal in our fields, and this is one of our biggest assets.
We pride ourselves on having the unique ability to work in the grey area between the business aspect of an initiative, and the technical aspect. We excel at understanding the customer/client/sales perspectives, but we are also able to tackle the technical challenges of a project. The end result is that we usually succeed in making a breakthrough... not because we're amazing, but because we bridge a gap that often goes overlooked.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Emphasize the word "Singular". Be aware that people automatically assume that "Singular" means one, or single. Note the definition of Singular - we envision printing the definition on the back of business cards.
Professionalism is key. We are mostly young (27-35) and have to sell ourselves in industries where the establishment often expects their consultants to be baby boomers.
Blues, dark backgrounds come to mind, but feel free to push our boundaries - we expect it of our clients, why not you? We will be sure to offer feedback often through the proces.
The logo should be versatile enough to transform onto a letterhead that is not ink-intensive when printed.

We are excited about the entries so far - thanks to the designers who have shown interest.
To clarify though, we DO NOT want to emphasize the number "1" or "individuals" in this logo. The definition of singular is "unique", and that is why we chose the name. We offer unique abilities, often as a team of professionals working on a project.
We are also not interested in logos that shorten our name to "Tech Pros"... for us this suggests computer or electronics repairmen.
We like logos that are more horizontal/rectangular in appearance (it will work better as letterhead and business cards).
Finally, it would be nice to see the unique stylizations incorporated into the word singular, if anyone is interested in trying... (perhaps a lower case "i" with the dot replaced by your unique creation).
Looking forward to your work!
UPDATE: logos where "Singular" and "Technical" are emphasized together do not appeal to us. "Singular" should have more prominence than "Technical Professionals". (our web domain will be singulartp.com)
UPDATE 2: We would really like to see a unique symbol developed that will represent our company. There are a lot of entries that give different designs of the letter "S" - we like these, and we may select one of them as the winner, but we are hoping that one designer will come up with a creative, unique symbol that will capture our theme. This is not easy to do, so best of luck to all of those who try - we think the talent is here to come up with something that we can't say "no" to.
