What we do
We are a small town store that carries a lot of hardware and a lot of everything else, including housewares, clothing & boots, outdoor gear, pet supplies and more. We are customer-service oriented, helping customers through their needs. We serve the residents of our small town of 7,000 people in addition to the tourists that come for cabin stays and exploring in the hills surrounding.

The target audience
Two target audiences:
1) Local residents of the small town that is growing - Blue collar, salt of the earth, older and younger, both men and women, lower income, high school education, DIY, not afraid to get hands dirty, hardworking, conservative, drives trucks and wears boots, enjoys hunting and fishing. Contractors and weekend warriors alike.
2) Tourists - Hikers, campers outdoorsy types usually vacationing away from their homes in the city, camping in cabins and RVs. Mid to higher income. Sometimes celebrating anniversaries or holding bachelor parties and weddings.
We like these fonts, colors and style
Color: Red, Black, White, Grays. For the red, please refer to the True Value logo attached. We would like a red similar in shade.
Font: We are open to both sans-serif and serif fonts, likely a combination of the two. We would like something with a vintage touch when highlighting "Crabtree's" and make it bold. Legibly is a must.
Style: "Crabtree's" larger text than rest, it's own line. Vintage touch with this typeface.
A little bit of texture would be nice to add more to the design, some depth, or backdrop/shadow effects.
No use of hills in background, we want the logo to be more universal and not geographic specific.
Employing a ribbon to contain the "General Goods / & Hardware" (two lines) might look nice, with tagline beneath and outside ribbon. See reference photo.
Possible art to include: Vintage 1930-40 flat bed or stake bed truck or incorporating something fun to incorporate the name "Crabtree".
