BookTalk.org Logo Design Contest
Name On Logo: BookTalk.org
Our Slogan
Quality books. Great conversations.
What we do
BookTalk.org is an online book discussion community where we read and discuss both fiction and non-fiction books as a group. We have forums and a chat room and often interview our authors in either email interviews or live chat sessions where all members are encouraged to interact with the author. We tend to read academic books so the logo should look intelligent and educated, not like we discuss comic books. But not TOO intelligent and educated. We tend to scare away casual readers of fiction and we're trying to change that.
Industry: Miscellaneous

Things to communicate through the design
1. Reading and discussing books is fun and educational.
2. Bold fonts, easy to read the URL and slogan. Friendly but somewhat serious or academic.
3. We're all about books. Maybe show some books in the logo.

The target audience
- 50/50 male and female
- Mostly people 35 - 65 years old. Few younger than 30.
- 90% in the United States, 10% other English speaking nations like Australia and UK
- Our audience is anyone that likes to read and talk about what they are reading
- Smart and educated people - we are a bit academic as we focus on non-fiction BUT we want to bring in more fiction lovers

We like these fonts, colors and style
TRANSPARENT please. Myst look good on gradient orange header found at top of BookTalk.org. Font colors must be visible on orange header.

I'd like the logo fonts to be bold and easy to read even on small mobile screens so no script fonts or thin fonts. I've imagined the two words in different colors, but this is not necessary. So "Book" in one color and "Talk" in another. Use all caps OR capitalize the B and T. But do not use all lowercase. The .org MUST be included in the logo so people don't head to the .com website. I own .org, not .com. Please check out my site to get ideas for fonts and colors and the overall feel. Logo can be transparent but doesn't have to be.

The logo needs to be vector format, transparent and MUST look good (be very readable) laid over the orange gradient header you see at the top of the site: BookTalk.org

If you use orange in all or some of the text that orange needs to somehow be separated from the orange header color. Some people have done this by placing a thin white border around the orange text or the whole thing.

Whatever you do please make sure it is transparent and looks great on that orange gradient header.

Am I going to have contact with the winner after this is over? I will want that person to do additional variations of the logo for the BookTalk.org Facebook page. [Login to view URL] I'll need a favicon too.

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)  (Mugs & Tshirts)

Additional Info Added Jun 1, 2022
My website header is orange so your logo should be transparent and look good on the orange gradient header. Look at [Login to view URL]

If you use an orange font it needs to somehow stand apart from the orange background.
