What we do
Leukodystrophy Australia is an Australian charity that supports people who suffer from this very severe group of diseases - Leukodystrophy.
We are preparing for a fundraising/charitable initiative for our not for profit organisation (leuko.org.au) which will involve a 70 year old man walking solo across Australia (north west to south east) to raise funds for the organisation. He last did this 5,000km walk in 2016 - see

We are wanting a logo created to allow us to promote this walk/fundraising initiative.

Things to communicate through the design
1. The cause - supporting people with Leukodystrophy
2. That this gruelling walk (nobody has walked across Australia solo 4 times) is being undertaken yet again across Australia
3. For people to watch the Walk (we will have an interactive map) and to Donate or spread the word
The target audience

We like these fonts, colors and style
Please see attached rough concept (created by non graphic artist) as rough guidance of what we are thinking, but we are open for creative suggestions - we feel it should include some sort of map or representation of Australia, path (we might adjust the track slightly, but it is north west to south east) of the walk. The red heart in the centre is significant because that is what is within the charity logo (see
[Login to view URL]). We are open for the map to be more abstract if that is preferred, but as long as it is visually representative of Australia. Font should not be complicated. The disease group, Leukodystrophy is not well known, but the name needs to be represented and if the distinguishing challenge of the disease is able to be communicated creatively and easily, this would be a bonus.
We are looking for a simple and uncluttered logo that visually demonstrates what this walk is about and that it is a superhuman effort to raise funds for a severe group of diseases (many with these diseases cannot walk and their nerves do not conduct). Outline colour of the map might change, depending upon the media.
