We are a web development company (we make websites, and web applications).
Ages of clients varies, but mainly 22-35. They are young, cutting edge type businesses that heavily emphasizes aesthetics. Mostly in the USA although we do international business as well.
*Note: this logo needs to be able to be rebranded for a "set of brands" - i.e., we have a Content Management System called "Total Kontrol" that we want to brand similarly to our company logo. So the winner will be getting more business from us! :)
The logo should be very clean, light, fresh, breathable and happy. I want to avoid the look of a boring computer programmer with a pocket protector.
One thing I love about the way the word SammyK is written is that the top starts high, it dips and then rises at the end with the "K".

For the branding - something like "retro script" I guess you'd call it:

For the light, happy look:

I'd like to have a shape or character in the logo that can stand on it's own and fit well in a small square image (for example as a twitter avatar). Or maybe just a version of the logo that would work well in a small square. Or maybe this could be a shape that changes slightly for each rebranding (like for Total Kontrol). Just ideas.

Attached you will see our new website deign specs (I know, I should have had the logo done before the design, but that was my oversight).
Also attached is the current "logo". It's not really branding in my option, just the company name in a font that's similar to what I want. The font name is called "Swingdancer":

Also - in the logo, ignore the tag line "Swinger • Linguist • Tagline" That's just filler text. It should have instead, "Expert Web Development"
