What we do
The NTLC provides information and education to promote stewardship, conservation, and rehabilitation of our coldwater resources. We host many educational events such as: fly fishing clinics, fly tying classes, rod building sessions, stream-side learning activities, youth activities, and environmental awareness sessions. We want to be the “go-to” place for trout and coldwater resource information. The NTLC partners with many other non-profits such as: Trout Unlimited, art councils, youth organizations, environmental learning centers, and departments of fish and wildlife.

Things to communicate through the design
1. Sense of Stewardship
2. The human connection with the trout
3. Simple and Memorable
The target audience
Our target audience is everyone, but we often appeal to fishermen and other sportsmen. We also want to be part of the environmental awareness and conservation community.
We like these fonts, colors and style
Through our logo we want to communicate a sense of stewardship that humans need to have for their environment. This imagery suggests that good stewards of the land do not to harm the environment in any way. The image we uploaded conveys the idea of stewardship because it shows the respectful relationship between the trout and the human (the trout was released unharmed back to its clean natural habitat that, we, as humans, have conserved).
We want our logo to be simple, memorable, and not “cartoon like”. We are a professional non-profit organization and we want to show that. In the logo we want our name abbreviation “NTLC” and our full name, ”National Trout Learning Center”. We would like the fonts to be simple also (no cursive). Our color choices for the logo are natural colors like greens, browns, blues, and maroon. We would also prefer to have an oval shape to our logo.
