Name On Logo: VO2X (VO2eXtreme)
Our Slogan
Endurance sports experts
What we do
We make the lightest sports sunglasses on the market for triathletes, runners, cyclists, Ironman competitors and more. These sunglasses compete with Oakley, but we are a much smaller company so our price point must be lower (for the moment). These sunglasses have been designed to be mirrored but also shatter proof and scratch resistant (important during a race).
Industry: Sports & Recreation
Things to communicate through the design
1. Great for endurance sports athletes
2. Lightest weight (thereby fastest, most comfortable) on the market
3. Edgy, cool sports company
The target audience
Endurance athletes (marathon, triathlon, cycling, Ironman) looking for a great alternative to expensive, scratch prone Oakleys. Our sunglasses can be wiped clean on your shirt, something you wouldn't do if you were concerned about scratching Oakley mirrored sunglasses.
We like these fonts, colors and style
ideally, the logo will fit on the side of sunglasses, but can also be used on all other forms of sports gear like shirts, hats, etc. Oakley has an iconic look that works for this. not sure if you have to go with just V or VX or VO2X. VO2 has to do with the volume of oxygen taken into the blood, so the 2 is supposed to be a subscript. Perhaps the O2 can be an "O" with the 2 wrapped around it and/or the X behind it? (picture of sunglasses below)
Our design will be used on
(Web) (Print Media) (Mugs & Tshirts)

It's great to see the ideas rolling in already! Just a quick note that Oxygen in the US is typically represented by "O" with "2" as a SUBscript. The first few entries have is as a SUPERscript, which might be cool, but doesn't really represent Oxygen= O2 (sorry I can't show it using regular text).
*One other idea is to separate the O2 into OO and make a logo that can be viewed the same even if it's upside down. Imagine making the V with a small extension below it so that it almost looks like an X. Then do the same with the X, but reversed. You get XOOX, but with the right font/design, it could look like VOOX right side up and upside down. If you can get that to work, you might overlap the Os so it feels more like O2 than OO.
**Finally, it might be cool to try creating a symbol for the company that looks like the center of the reinforced lens. It looks like a character of a guy without a head. Could be a cool shape to work with-- turn it into an endurance symbol for all gear?!
