In our opinion, the most of the logo directions are not suitable for our company. We're young and ambitious, but we're still a tech company, creating mostly websites, so our indentity suggest this thing. We don't prefer shadow, bevel&emboss, reflect, color background and the grunge feeling.
Something like the 37signals logo (http://37signals.com/images/logo-37s-large.png), a plain text with a good font, and maybe an abstract logo, but you can play with the color, we prefer.
Our friend made a quick job for us few weeks ago, you can check it here (http://storage.dryhq.com/identity/dry_2-1.jpg), we like that feeling, but we think it's not the best choice for az tech company.
