What we do
MetroTex is a non-profit membership association that serves 22,000 real estate professionals in the North Texas Region, specifically the Dallas-Fort Worth area. MetroTex advocates on behalf of Realtors and for private property rights. The Association provides tools and services to help these professionals succeed in their business in an ethical and professional manner. MetroTex members are not only a diverse group demographically, they practice in a range of different areas of real estate such as residential, commercial and global. Property managers, real estate office managers and affiliate members such as mortgage professionals and home inspectors also help the organization thrive. MetroTex is affiliated with the National Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors (known as Texas REALTORS) and is the sixth-largest local real estate Association in the United States. The ultimate goal of MetroTex and its members is to provide excellent service to customers and tirelessly work to improve local communities.
Industry: Real Estate

Things to communicate through the design
1. Integrity
2. Leadership
3. Professionalism

The target audience
MetroTex has several target audiences that can be separated into the following areas: Agents: The driving force behind all real estate transactions, these professionals show homes to clients, hold open houses to help customers sell their homes and spend countless hours staying on top of their education and marketing their services. Brokers: These more experienced real estate businessmen and women are leaders of a team, sometimes consisting of hundreds of agents. They are volunteers in their community and mentors to the agents they serve. Office Managers: These skilled professionals keep everybody organized and moving forward. Industry Partners: Teachers, sponsors, mortgage lenders and title company representatives are part of this group. They provide financial help and expertise. Consumers: Those in need of the services of a real estate professional also are the audience of MetroTex. To ensure that somebody hires the right real estate professionals, MetroTex strives to convey a message that hiring a MetroTex agent will make the process easier, and it will be conducted with integrity. MetroTex members are involved in their communities, and they volunteer their time to worthy causes. They are helpful, considerate, respectful and extremely passionate about the housing industry.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Rather than mention colors we like, we would rather start with a mention of colors we don’t like and leave it up to design professionals to come up with some great concepts. We don’t like primary colors. All our local competitors/partners are blue with a green accent, so we definitely want to stay away from that. We would love to avoid all the things we see in most real estate logos – rooftops, houses, keys, home construction, yard signs, that type of thing. We don’t like swooshes for the sake of swooshes or logos that are too busy. We would like our new logo to a indicate that MetroTex is in the North Texas region. But the trick is, we’re more than just Dallas. Our members work in Arlington, Fort Worth and in other surrounding areas. There are several uses of a star that seems to be included in many Texas-related logos. We’re not against that. In fact, a segmented star with negative space is one that we saw recently and really liked. We like jewel tones and natural colors. We’re looking for something simple, modern, clean, sophisticated and sleek. You may use MetroTex Association of REALTORS® or just MetroTex REALTORS®. The trend in the industry these days is to drop the "Association of" but we're OK eithe rway. We want something that definitely says, “MetroTex” when people look at it from a distance – and we don’t want to have to explain where MetroTex is located. We’re MetroTex, but we represent the huge, diverse and cosmopolitan area of DFW. It would be great if our finished logo could also easily lead to secondary variations, meaning that we could use something that would look great on a coffee mug without having to spell out the entire name. Think Nike, Apple, Target, NBC, Starbucks, Volkswagen, AT&T, Beats, etc. We are also interested in logos with interesting use of font like Compass Real Estate, Amazon, FedEx etc. For us, we would like our logo to look great with or without the named spelled out.
