The target audience
Specifically golfers aged 45 and over in Australia. But we have material of interest to all golfers everywhere.
We like these fonts, colors and style
The prime use for this logo will be as a 400x100 header for the Australian Senior Golfer website (check it out).
We also want it to be adaptable for other traditional branding and logo uses, smaller versions (some without the subtext/slogan) for links on other sites, email signature, stationery etc.
The current header is a dark blue font and I like that color and I think it suits the website design.
With golf related products people usually use some variation of golf balls, flagsticks, golf holes etc and I am not against that as such but don't want anything too kitch.
If you're a young designer DON'T think it is all about "old" people playing golf and don't think about turning golf clubs into walking sticks or whatever. These are fit, mature people who don't see themselves as "old" - that's always someone 20 years older than you!
