Our company stores, throughout Australia, retail and wholesale imported South African products and grocery items to South African expatriates living in Australia as well as the general Australian public.

The target audience
The primary audience are expatriates from South Africa living in Australia. However we have an expanding Australian and African customer base that have begun purchasing our imported products and locally produced meat and confectionery products made according to traditional South African recipes and methods. Demographically the customers are of all income groups, various industries, occupations, lifestyles and education. They usually have firm opinions about life and their wants and needs. They are strong supporters of quality, excellent service and their favourite sports team.

We like these fonts, colors and style
We currently have a very old fashioned, traditional brand (see old logo attached) which we would like to move away from. We like clean fresh looking icons that will work well in Retail displays as well.
Our new website will use a fair amount of white space and will be based upon fresh colours that work well with fresh meat products, retail deli items and groceries.
Our slogan has not been decided on but we do like things like: "The Quality you've always Trusted" or "Home of Trusted Quality"
Colours – We like the simplistic design of the Woolworths Australia logo (www.woolworths.com.au). We would like to see hues that complement the same greens that Woolworths Australia uses. The colours of the South African flag may be subtly incorporated into the logo if they add value to the design. We would like to keep colours that add a positive and nostalgic feel to the logo to entice a loyal customer base back into our stores.
Fonts - We like clean fonts without frills that develop a professional image in the viewers eye. We are not sure if there are certain fonts that work well in retail logos. We may also try to make 3D signage, so an uncomplicated font would be beneficial in keeping signage costs lower.
Style - We do not want to stifle your creative ideas, so would rather guide designers by selecting those concepts that appeal to us. We will provide daily feedback to remove ideas that do not appeal to us. We will respect designer’s creativity and discourage subtle variations done by other designers.
Based upon the winning design & our experience with this process, we may be interested in working with the chosen designer with more creative work.
