The target audience
Logo will be used in scientific and commercial presentations about both the science we are doing, and the commercial opportunities this instrument may provide. A logo would also function as a rally point for our team and something to identify our equipment.
We like these fonts, colors and style
The instrument itself is complicated. We filter seawater, treat the filtrate with chemicals, and wash the resulting liquid over DNA probes. If the filtrate sticks to the probes, they light up and we take a picture and beam it back to shore as a .TIFF file. The point is it's all automated, and relatively quick. This cool technology (we are the ONLY ones in the world with an instrument like this) is what we want to come across, along with the ideas of microbiology via water monitoring.
