What we do
We are an alliance of Manufacturers in West Central Texas.
We partner with multiple professional organizations to educate and equip job-seekers with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the manufacturing industry.
The raw materials we work with, the products we produce and the sizes of our member companies are diverse, but we work together to create a strong manufacturing industry in the West Central Texas region.
This 19-county area including the city of Abilene and many surrounding communities is locally known as the "Big Country".
Our customer base is local, national and global.
We also use the acronym BCMA.

We need both Black & White and Color versions that are fully scalable to any size without losing clarity or quality.
No specific color requirements.

Designers -
In this contest, entries that contain graphics with very accurate depictions of the true shape of the state of Texas will be valued more highly than entries with artistic representations of the shape of Texas.
Here's why:
Texas has a very unique shape, and Texans identify strongly with that shape. In addition to that, this contest is about manufacturing, so you're dealing with engineers and people who make precision products. So reasonable precision in depicting the shape of Texas is highly valued.
Note: This refers to the basic, big picture outline of Texas that is created by easily scalable vectors. This application does not require intricate detail of the coastline, etc. :0)

UPDATE:
We understand that our name has a large number of letters in it that might be difficult to read at small sizes. We are very open to choosing a logo where our name, Big Country Manufacturing Alliance, is included in the design for larger applications like banners and billboards, but is not included for smaller applications like the corner of Power Point Presentations or being embroidered on a shirt.
We hope that takes some pressure off of designers, increases the pool of designs that we will seriously consider for the winning entry and gives us the flexibility to display the logo in its best light in a wide range of applications.
I'm sorry we didn't think about including this earlier. We're learning!
