What we do
We are a local county health department in Michigan. Our mission is "We promote optimal health to prolong life by preventing disease and assuring protection of the public's health in our community and environment". We provide direct services to our clients for immunizations, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, investigation of reportable diseases in Michigan, in-home supports and services for children with chronic illnesses and older adults, vision and hearing screenings for school age children, nutrition education and supplemental food program for children and parents, breastfeeding support, permits for water wells, permits for sewage disposal systems, inspections of restaurants, environmental complaint investigation.
