What we do
We provide childcare and after-school care to a diversity of working families. But as a nonprofit, our special outreach is to low-income single parent families. We take a two-generational approach--- to give the financial assistance so the child has the highest quality developmental care, plus life coaching and classes for the parent in order to bring stability to the family.
Industry: Non-Profit

Things to communicate through the design
1. Fostering God's purpose for children and their families
2. Child development campus
3. Particular emphasis on single parent families

The target audience
Parents of children six weeks through fifth grade, who need child care while they are working, who also value the highest quality of developmental care in a Christian setting.
Donors and community partners who support our effort to help at-risk families, so that all children are prepared for a lifetime of learning and upward mobility.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Our current logo (below) is old-fashioned and too busy to be easily used on signs. We would prefer something more modern and simple with a slight nod toward the fact that we are a stand-alone faith-based nonprofit (no affiliation to a denomination or church). We would prefer symbols over depictions of children only. We struggle to convey the fact that we are in the business of childcare and therefore market to all working families. But at the same time, we are a nonprofit that must attract donors to our mission to support our low-income single parents and their unique needs.
Just FYI - the formal name of the nonprofit is Christ our Shepherd and we do business as COSKids and we want to add the dots to make it C.O.S.Kids so that it's not pronounced as "COS" Kids.

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)  (Billboards & Signs)  (Mugs & Tshirts)

Additional Info Added Jun 24, 2018
We have extended our contest dates. We now realize that our relationship to both the parent and their child is the key to our identity.

We would also like to see some color combinations of orange or orangey red and grass or emerald green. Royal to navy is a third color choice.
Local sign ordinances limit us to 3 colors.
