Things to communicate through the design

The target audience
End users and small businesses. Single individuals and small businesses will be coming to the site to sign-up for our service.
We like these fonts, colors and style
I like transparency (see through) and depth in the design. I also like colors. A creative, colorful, not crazy busy and excellent font style design is what I'm looking for. The name "Magnetos" must be very clear and easy to read on the eyes.
The logo should not be too artsy or off the deep end artistic, fifi'sh, or boring corporate simplistic design. There is nothing I can't stand more than a boring corporate "I just ate dry paper" simplistic design. I also do not want anything that looks like a technical type of logo. A VOIP service is already too technical for the average person. The logo should not give the feeling that its a hi-tech company even though that's what we are.
Here are some examples of graphics I like.
[Login to view URL] - 1st place - Heat Pump Cleaning. I like the 3d depth of the round part of the logo. The green part sticking out in the middle I would of done without but you can see a nice depth of the round image.
[Login to view URL] - Silver/Orange. Silver/Purple color combinations. Very nice. Not that I want a silver/purple color scheme unless that's what you are coming up with. I'm just stating the colors combine very well.
Other Comments: We had an artist create a "character" for the new website. This character is not the logo, but a "Mascot".
[Login to view URL] for more information on what a Mascot is. At the time the character didn't really look like anything related to our company. But since we came up with the new name for our VOIP service, the character does seem to look like "Magnetos".
You can decide to take this character design into consideration when doing the logo or not. Its up to you. After the logo is done we will start immediately on the website design. If the character will look good with the new logo, we will use the character in all pages of the new website. You might want to consider this possibility as you design the logo.
We need someone to do the website design when the logo is completed.

Magnetos means communication, connection, attraction, invisible energy, electro-magnetic.

Magnetos is the branding/new name of the VOIP service and is not the company name.
Magnetos is pronounced the same as "Magneto", the character in the X-Men movies, but plural. The stress when speaking it is on the NE. MagNEtos. You should not design any additional significance in the NE.
Some designers are putting "magnets" in their designs. I'm not sure this is a good way to go. The name "Magnetos" implies magnetism, but it's not necessary to show actual magnets in the logo design.
