What we do
I am a partner at the MergeLane venture fund for startups with at least one woman in leadership.
I am starting a new blog and podcast for emerging venture capital fund managers.
It is going to be called Fund81: 1981, the year I was born and the birth of the millennial generation. Fund81 is a resource for the rising stars of venture capital.

Things to communicate through the design
1. I want it to look professional
2. It is going to be separate from MergeLane, but if it looks like it is associated, that would be great. Not required, but ideal.
3. I would like the "81" to be interesting. Either encapsulated in a shape or made into an interesting shape, I would like it to be more of a focal point.
The target audience
This is a niche market (only 800 early-stage venture fund managers in the world). They are tech-savvy. Hip. Cutting-edge. Startup Shiek.
We like these fonts, colors and style
I trust your creative instincts and hope you will take creative liberty.
As a starting point, I have come up with three concepts:
Concept 1: The race car concept: Since MergeLane is road-related, I thought something with forward movement font that kind of looks like something you would see associated with a race car might be fun. And we could loosely associate that with the ML brand. Road and speed (progress)-related. MergeLane / FastLane, etc. It doesn't need to be an obvious connection.
Concept 2 - The birthday candle - Since Fund81 is related to my birthday and the "birth" of the millennial generation, a subtle incorporation of a birthday candle could be fun.
Concept 3 - Number concept - After thinking about this more, this might be the best direction. I found some cool logos online that just did interesting things with the numbers in the brand name.
