The target audience
My services are for any age or sex. I service the Tampa Bay area and my clients tend to be mid to high level income families with higher educational backgrounds.
I've lived in 6 different countries, speak three languages and so my food tends to have an international flare.
I like the "duck" mascot/concept/idea because these animals tend to appear very graceful and calm as the float on water, but, in fact, their little feet are all the while kicking feverishly and non-stop under water so they can appear to glide "seamlessly" for our viewing pleasure. This is an analogy that mirrors the food service industry perfectly. Even if you make the best preparations for service during any kind of event, there's always all kinds of mayhem that goes on to make sure the client only sees the perfect, cool, calm and collected presentation of their food.
With that said, most of my research on duck pictures and graphics tend to come up with either rubber duckies or real-life and/or very detailed (read "complicated") ducks. For the record, I want NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS!
While trying to work on my own logo, I simplified a duck silhouette to as few lines as possible (which I think makes it look more modern/elegant) and it still resembles a duck (see attached). Just putting 3 of these in a row would do the trick but that's too simple and worst yet, boring! I need a little sense of humor injected into the logo. I'd love to have one of the ducks appear to be "mooning" so all you can see is it's tail up in the air. That one mooning duck is MY personal sarcastic sense of humor telling all the people who thought I was crazy to leave a cushy desk job at 40 yrs of age to become a chef and who doubted I'd ever make it in this business, to eat their words and my food now! ???
We like these fonts, colors and style
I don't know much about fonts but considering this logo will be used in so many different ways, especially chef jackets, t-shirts and hats, it needs to transfer legibly.
Colors: I'm based in Florida so I'd like tropical colors like orange, reds, turquoise blues.
