What we do
We are a new gourmet pizza restaurant opening in Austin, Texas, serving NY style thin crust pizza and wings.
Industry: Restaurant
Things to communicate through the design
1. NY style pizza baked in stone lined traditional oven
2. Huge slices of pizza - slices as big as your head!
3. Offering a premium product - not your local Dominos or Gattis
The target audience
Premium pizza pies at a premium price, catering to young professionals and college students in the ultimate college town - Austin. Our pizzas are priced much higher than the average pizza restaurant, but we feel our price is justified by the quality and taste of our product. We are located in a upper middle class suburbia neighborhood with numerous high end bars, clubs, and restaurants.
We like these fonts, colors and style
"Al Forno" on the first line using a larger size font, and "Slices and Pies" on the second line in a smaller font. We would prefer a bolder serious looking font as opposed to a more playful font. Al Forno means "in the oven" in Italian, and we would like our logo and store name to somehow convey the image of our stone deck oven, which is paramount to the quality and taste of our food. Some of our own ideas included a picture of an oven door opening outwards, with red or orange flames shooting out, with a glimpse of the stones in the far background of the oven. Another idea was using a character, like a "muscular" pizza maker, holding a huge pizza peel beside the stone oven. We are open to all ideas, but the oven should be the foundation of our logo. The final design logo should convey to the customers an image that we are a higher end pizza restaurant serving premium pizza pies and slices.
