Design Contest Brief

Company Name: HomeShare Arizona
Our Slogan
None
What We Do
HomeShare Arizona brokers relationships between older homeowners with room to spare and local college students who need more affordable housing options as they pursue their education. In exchange for the room, the students provide home maintenance services (lawn care, cooking, cleaning, etc.) that help older homeowners remain independent for longer. (NOT home health)
HomeShare Arizona taps into a pool of student renters to find a good match, screens applicants, conducts background checks, facilitates a home visit/introduction, and negotiates an agreement between the homeowner and renter.
Industry: Service Industries

Things to Communicate Through Our Design
1. Balanced, cooperative, sharing of assets
2. Trustworthy
3. Health, vibrance

Target Audience
Dual-sided market:
Customer 1: Active and healthy older homeowners who live by themselves (65-85 years), most will be female, retired or possibly in an "encore career", rooted in their homes and communities but possibly lonely/isolated, financially stable though living off of fixed incomes (their homes are their biggest asset)

Customer 2: Mature graduate or international college students (20-30 years old) who are focused on their schoolwork, making sacrifices to graduate with as little debt as possible, family-oriented, and open to intergenerational interactions.

We Like These Designs (fonts, colors, style)
I attached a generic logo that I purchased from GraphicSprings.com. I like how the two chairs facing one another signals a relationship or personal interaction, which is the value proposition of HomeShare Arizona.

I don't love that this logo looks bare and "spindly" on a white background, but I like clean designs that will pop on a white background.

Teal/aqua seems to be a softer color that can be bright, lively, and updated but not pastel (I don't want hearts or anything that looks like a "caregiver business"). However, I'm open to other colors that don't look too business or medical.

Our Design Will Be Used On
Web,  Print Media,  Mugs & Tshirts

Entry #9 has introduced a "mirroring" concept into the text and the logo that is a really interesting way of signaling the balanced and cooperative nature of the business.

Colors: Blood red, dark blue are not going to work. Orange could, chartreuse could, orange could, but I haven't see it done quite right yet.
Style: I like the crisp font in #9 - not sharp/rigid, not soft and cartoony.
