What we do
Soundworks' main focus is giving 1 on 1 music lessons on all the standard rock instruments. We also have a recording studio and hire out musicians for session gigs.
We are a progressive company (at least as far music lesson studios go, at least) co-owned by a couple of 20-somethings with a home-grown business ethic seeking to maintain professionalism while not sacrificing a relaxed, down to earth atmosphere.

Things to communicate through the design
1. We are a progressive and hip music studio- but not TOO hipster (we are in a suburban area)
2. We strike a balance between the cool musician type and being professionally minded.
3. We provide students of all ages with a dynamic learning environment that is engaging and fun
The target audience
Demographics: Students include all ages, but at least 50% of students are children under 18. As such, the studio's image should be focused more on impressing their middle/upper middle class suburban parents who will be paying for their lessons (without putting off the younger students).
The most typical student is a young person age 8-18, with lessons being paid for by their suburbanite parents. However
We like these fonts, colors and style
We have liked logos with 3D elements, and those that are dynamic and indicate some type of movement, but we are very open to any possible design ideas. We are not sure if we would prefer a logo that is text based, icon based, or a combination of both.
We are also not sure whether we would like to see Sound Works as one word or two words... it all depends on the design... However, we do know that the word Studios will probably not be emphasized as much as the other words.
