What we do
I need a logo for a website/application that will service the thoroughbred horse breeding industry. It’s basically an auction site for stallion services.
Industry: Sports & Recreation
Things to communicate through the design
1. Fast-moving auction site - there will be some "horse-trading" going on here
2. Exclusivity - members only
3. New technology for an old industry
The target audience
This is basically a business-to-business site. The buyers and sellers are located in a small geographic region and do business with each other on a regular basis. The industry is generally very conservative, stylish and refined - a bit like a country club.
We like these fonts, colors and style
The name is a play on words. In horse racing, if a jockey is injured or unable to ride on race day, a last-minute substitute jockey will take his place. This is called a “pick-up mount.” In breeding a stallion “mounts” the mare in order to breed her. The application focuses on the last-minute substitutions of stallions when one “picks-up” the assignment from one that is unavailable. The logo should be clean and stylish. A little whimsy is ok, but I don’t want anything cartoonish. I am open to incorporating horse, horse racing or horse farm related elements in the logo, but it’s not necessary. There are no restrictions on fonts, colors or styles. Feel free to go retro, vintage, modern, whatever.
