Our Slogan
No Slogan
What we do
Genoa Township is a local government located in Delaware County, Ohio
Industry: Non-Profit

Things to communicate through the design
1. That it is Genoa Township’s Bicentennial (1816-2016)
2. The Township is a family-friendly community with numerous parks and trails
3. The Township is modern but has a rich rural heritage

The target audience
The 25,184 residents of Genoa Township, business owners and community organizations within the Township, and any people attending special community events. The Township is relatively affluent and many of the Township’s residents have moved to the community for one or more of the following reasons: good schools, family-friendly atmosphere, suburban-rural character, preserved natural landscape/wildlife, and vast bicycle/pedestrian trail network.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Color: The Township’s current primary logo utilizes multiple shades of blue and features a sun setting behind 3 pine trees (see attachment). While these colors are not required to be utilized, color tones should be similar so that the primary logo and the requested logo do not clash with one another. Patriotic colors are encouraged.

Font: A neo-historical (19th and early 20th century) font reflecting the Township’s rural, pioneer, Midwest America heritage is encouraged however the font should still be legible at all sizes and not cliché.

Style: The logo should be appropriate for a government entity but should avoid being coming across as stuffy, strict, or too formal. The logo should be classical and clean without being abstract.
Other: Genoa Township was founded by veterans of the American Revolutionary War and pioneers from the original 13 colonies who mad their livelihoods by lumbering the walnut timber that grew along the Big Walnut Creek, farming the fertile land, and constructing mills to process the products of the lumbering and farming operations. The Township was named after Genoa, Italy, the hometown of explorer Christopher Columbus. For the vast majority of its history, the Township consisted of mostly farms, one room brick schoolhouses, covered bridges, rural cemeteries, small mills, woodlands and meadows teeming with North American wildlife, particularly deer, and undisturbed creeks and streams. The community has only begun to develop into a more suburban community in the past 20 to 25 years. While some of the farms, forests, meadows, schoolhouses, and wildlife remains, the Township also now consists of many single-family neighborhoods, modern schools, churches, and parks resulting in a community that is contemporary yet still very much in touch with, and reflective of, its past. The Township’s most iconic landmark(s) are its vast bicycle/pedestrian trail system, preserved barns, and Hoover Reservoir, a man-made lake surrounded by preserved woodlands and wetlands that is popular with sail boats and fishermen.
