What we do
Ted is following his dream. My husband and I have developed a beautiful piece of land in the much sought after Okanagan wine region in BC, Canada. The vineyard is now 8 years old and the next step is the development of the winery. We need a label for our product. Ted has a passion for viticluture and wine making and is very good at both. We feel very lucky in life with our land and 3 healthy kids. We want to share our good fortune, our dream and our wine.

Our winery is unique in that it is one of the only ones in the area bordered by the Okanagan River. Our kids are growing up in and on the river. Great wine starts in the vineyard and is an expression of the land in which it is grown.
Industry: Travel & Hospitality

Things to communicate through the design
1. Quality and endurablity
2. Classic, warm style
3. Approachabilty

The target audience
Our target audience is wine lovers. Most will come from outside of the valley - perhaps Vancouver which is 5 hours away. We believe many people have dreams and would do what we have done if opportunities allowed. These people value quality of life and are probably in the 30 and up age range.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Looking for a splash of color to draw the eye. We are hoping for a concept that will invoke the memories and feelings of a rural area and a simpler time in pleasant surrondings.

Would like the background to be maple trees with brillant autumn colors. Like the concept of 3 ripples on water from a skipped stone. Like a silhouette of a boy with a dog (golden retriever) skipping a stone. Open to ideas.

Our hancrafted wine will be priced in the premium quality but not ridiculous range. It will be worth what we are asking and we would like a label that reflects this.

Our design will be used on

Additional Info Added Jun 21, 2010
Just wanted to clarify that we don't need to emphasize the maple leaf. We will be marketing in Canada soley. We like the colors of maple trees in the fall, but perhaps some of the designs could use a grape leaf. Also we are starting to question the idea of the dog and boy on the label. Maybe this is not appropriate for a wine bottle?
