What we do
We are a company that does managed hosting server support. We offer add-on consulting services for people & businesses that use otherwise un-managed servers to run their business applications.
Industry: Technology
Things to communicate through the design
1. Cutting-Edge
2. High Tech (Web 2.0)
3. Reliable
The target audience
We primarily focus on supporting Ruby on Rails applications. As such, the design should invoke a slight relation to trains or railway tracks:

HOWEVER, we do not want red to be a strong part of the logo (if included at all).
We like these fonts, colors and style
Our personality:
We want to be understood to be reliable and stable, but also very forward-thinking and cutting-edge. We are primarily business-to-business, but service is our number one mission, so an air of openness and accessibility is important.
Colors:
We do not have a color scheme. The color scheme will be determined by the logo. Bright primary or secondary colors are preferred (Green, Blue, Orange, Purple). If red is used, it should be only a small part of the coloring. 2 prominent colors are preferred, but more are allowable (gradients, etc are okay, as long as they can be simplified to solid colors for printing/greyscale).
Some possible combinations that are about what we're looking for (don't be afraid to come up with your own though!):
#3364B0 / #FA8C00
#027BC0 / #88C220
Blue/Purple
Basic premise:
No super fancy or complex images. It should be more abstract than detailed. Looking for something clean that could be recognizable in black & white as well. White/transparent backgrounds only please. The design should be mostly text based. Ideally the graphic parts of the logo should integrate or interact with the text. We do NOT just want plain text with a logo nearby. If there is a distinct graphical element, then the text styling should be unique enough to be used on its own.
Some POSSIBLE thoughts for possible leads:
Some abstract train tracks (No cross-bars, just rails)
A train tunnel or bridge
A set of tracks meeting or branching off
Our design will be used on
(Web) (Print Media) (Mugs & Tshirts)

Notice that they are:
* Generally very fluid, flow, dynamic
* All relatively simple. No complex images or fine details
* The artwork is tightly connected to the text
* Would all be easily recognizable in black & white

"A roundhouse is a building used by railroads for servicing locomotives." Except we are servicing servers, not trains.
It has nothing to do with houses
