What we do
Wesley's Table is a program of the Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church (LMUMC) in the small town of Opelousas, Louisiana. Over 200 years old, LMUMC is located in what was once a solidly middle-class neighborhood but which is now poor and unchurched. Wesley's Table is a new program in which we will offer free breakfast on Sunday mornings to all who wish to attend. While it is our goal to extend the love of Jesus to our neighbors, we do not want the logo to feature the name of our church or even to be overtly Christian. We simply want to invite our neighbors in for a meal. (NOTE: The name "Wesley" is a reference to the founder of the American Methodist church, but that is intended to be an inside reference and so will be just a name to most of our target audience.)

The target audience
Our church neighbors are primarily African-American, of low income, and have a wide variety of family relationships in the home. While there are some "two-parents, two-kids" type of families, we also have plenty of single mothers with little children, elderly people living alone, and people with a more transient and unstable lifestyle. At first, they may be suspicious of a "free breakfast" program, and they may think that we will "preach" to them or require them to attend church. That is not our desire. We just want to reach out to our neighbors and get to know them better.
We like these fonts, colors and style
We want something easily-identifiable, a "clean" design, nothing that looks too "slick," modern, or "fancy." :)
