What we do
You will be creating a logo that will represent a team of competitive amateur athletes racing triathlons (primarily), as well as other endurance events such as runs, cycling races and swims around the world.
Industry: Sports & Recreation

Things to communicate through the design
1. Speed
2. Strength, power, energy
3. Perseverance, persistence and seriousness

The target audience
Our target audience is serious amateur athletes who dedicate a substantial amount of time in their otherwise busy life to train for challenging competitive events. Age group between 18 and 50, male and female, well educated and affluent. Various nationalities.

We like these fonts, colors and style
The logo will initially be used on race kit (see examples at [Login to view URL]), as well as training apparel, such as cycling kit (see examples at [Login to view URL]), running shirts or hats (see examples at [Login to view URL]), swim caps (see examples at [Login to view URL]) to help foster team spirit among team members and help them and their supporters identify them in the race. It may also be used later as part of our marketing strategy to seek out sponsors.

Design should work both on light and dark backgrounds. No 3D or color gradients are allowed (although gradient through inclusion of contrasting dots or other shapes is fine).

We thought the name would work well with a "retro modern" theme, which looks serious, if not outright threatening.

Logo should have no more than 3 colors, one of which is the color of the background on which the logo will be printed. One of the colors should be capable of being reversed, depending on whether it is being printed on light or dark background.

We are open to different color schemes; however, going with the "retro modern" theme, thought thought it should either consist of simple or primary colors or be subdued. The colors of the logo will ultimately dictate the color scheme of race kit, which will be either (1) bright and "sporty" such as royal blue or (2) consist of less common color combinations. In either case, the idea is to make the entire design "pop" from a sea of athletes wearing many different colors.

Symbols of the three sports if triathlon (swimming, cycling and running) may, but need not necessarily, be included in the logo. If they are not included, the word TRIATHLON should be included somewhere in the logo.
