What we do
I am a Rosen Bodywork practitioner. Rosen Method is similar to massage as it works directly with chronic muscle tension in a way that can bring deep relaxation. But instead of manipulating the muscles to let go, Rosen "meets" the tension and uses mirroring/reflecting words and touch to facilitate the client's shift into an embodied state of awareness, where the origins of the physical tension (frequently related to unresolved / unexpressed emotion tension) may rise to the client's consciousness. This process is led by the wisdom of the body, (and supported/tracked by the practitioner) and often results in the organic release, resolution, and relief from corresponding physical and/or emotional pain.
Industry: Miscellaneous
Things to communicate through the design
1. DEPTH (deeply connecting to self and feeling deeply met by practitioner allows client to move below the surface of habitual self limiting thoughts and enter a more insightful state of embodied awareness)
2. PRESENCE (practitioner's honoring, tracking, acknowledging presence creates a sacred, safe space for client's deeper presence with self)
3. FLOW (there is a flow to the client's inner journey/exploration, a flow to teh emerging of deep, somtimes forgotten truths, and this can lead to the restored flow of creative expression and feeling of aliveness
The target audience
People who want to have greater access to what feels authentic in them, who want to know themselves more honestly/deeply, feel more "grounded", have greater self compassion, and who want to reclaim more ease in their bodies and lives. Rosen can be an effective support for psychotherapy, for those seeking to deepen their spiritual practice, and for those open to exploring possible emotional connections in their search for relief from chronic physical pain. Because Rosen is not generally covered by insurance, I mostly want to draw people who can afford to pay for treatment. I work with adults from any walk of life who are interested in the work, but do not generally work with children.
We like these fonts, colors and style
I keep having the image of a great blue heron standing in gently flowing water, its reflection mirrored in the water. I am open to other images that might more immediately convey bodywork, but Rosen is unique and in no way superficial, so I do not want trendy, fad, "new age-y" images but something that conveys the organic, respectful, soft yet powerful nature of Rosen work. I like the look of watercolor washes with gradation of color and think it could convey the softness and depth of Rosen work and suggest moving below the surface. Perhaps the lettering or some part of the design could balance softness by conveying strength and safe containment? The other thing is that Rosen is not well known in my area, so while I want the design to convey its uniqueness, I would also like it to seem professional...without being stagnant or rigid. Quiet strength, not overpowering, simple yet conveying depth, perhaps with a bit of elegant simplicity, these are the qualities I'm after. Colors: soothing watery, blues, greens, maybe purple, but still conveying some warmth. I do not know names of fonts, but something easy to read, not too bulky...either serif or sanserif is okay. Some designs I like that can be found on-line: Lake Missoula Tea Company (like overall design), The Good Food Store (in Missoula MT) (I like the feel of the logo (tree) and placement of lettering....but I'm not necessarily attached to the font itself. Caffe Dolce (a Cafe in Missoula) I like the organic elegant feel of the lettering - Heron Dance - has nature art (watercolors of birds and water) by Roderick Maclver...I like the mystical feel of this art
