What we do
A Wave of Life is a non-profit organization that my family and I have started to continue the work and passion of my brother who has recently passed away. Ruairi worked with Autistic children, mentoring them through their childhood and helping them develop social skills to prepare them for a society that has yet to understand them and sometimes not even accept them. Ruairi's had a passion in life and for children that not many individuals possessed. Children were instantly drawn to his quirky yet beautiful personality. Ruairi was also a surf instructor and his dream was to start a surf school for Autistic and Special Needs Children. He believed there was connection with the salt water and ocean that provided a level of healing and comfort to these children. A Wave of Life will continue Ruairi's dream and see it fulfilled. We plan to give the means and methods to Autistic and Special Needs Children and provide them the opportunity to expereince the ocean and riding the wave of life on a surfboard!
Industry: Non-Profit

Things to communicate through the design
1. Autism
2. Waves
3. Colorfulness (to represent the color of life and the Autistic Spectrum)

The target audience
Our target audience is the Autism community. The families that have and support Autistic children, the corporations, educational organizations, research facilities/organizations and other foundations supporting this cause.

We like these fonts, colors and style
The universal symbol for Autism is the puzzle piece and one of many colors to represent the various spectrums of Autism. We would like to see a design that incorporates colorful puzzle pieces into an ocean wave, or the ocean wave is made of these puzzle pieces. A bright, light blue is the color that represents Autism and we would like this to be the primary color. The attached image is a silhouette of Ruairi in Port Macquarie, Australia where he lived, surfed, worked and most of all enjoyed life. We would like to incorporate this silhouette into the logo.
