What we do
Florition is the name of my independent floral design business. For me, the name and its sound evokes elements of flowers, growth and nutrition. Just like people need fruits, vegetables and proper diet to stay healthy, they also need regular servings of nature and freedom of expression. Flowers and plants can help satisfy that need. Sometimes they are simply a breath of fresh air and other times they can help us express emotions.
I design arrangements for small events (weddings, showers, celebrations, etc.), but I also offer arrangements for everyday appreciation. I will not be a Teleflora or typical florist that has standardized designs they take orders for and deliver. Rather I will be a specialty, unique design option. I also plan to blog and share information on the designs to enhance the customer’s appreciation for the arrangement and share how they can use them to enhance their living/work spaces.
Overall, I want to offer a high quality (yet affordable) product and be very approachable and interactive with my customers.
Slogan is TBD
Industry: Retail
Things to communicate through the design
1. High Quality - Customers are getting something well thought out and well-made
2. Appreciation/Satisfaction - Customers will get something they can enjoy
3. Nourishment - Flowers and plants are good for your mind and soul, not just a special occasion
The target audience
People celebrating special life moments.
People with an appreciation for their everyday environments (home, office, etc.) and a desire to enhance their experience in them.
Most likely, the audience will be largely female based. All ages.
Target Audience will have some discretionary income for flowers, probably middle class.
We like these fonts, colors and style
I would like something simple but it should have character to it.
The “character” can be in the form of the writing or with a simple image. If an image is used, I don’t want the standard tree or people with circles as heads that I see in a lot of logos. It should be something related to nature though and more unique.
Below are some random ideas I came across and liked.
Colors: Not too bold. Try to limit to 3 colors max. (ex. One color for letters, one color for image or accent.). I like how the images below use a green or brown or black for the name and use other colors (ex. blue, yellow, orange) to accent.
They all leave room for a slogan to be added later as well.

This is simple but has character.

The writing is simple but the frame adds a nice touch and contrast. Maybe “Florition" with a rectangular frame?

I think this is cool how the letters have the design in it. "Florition" may be too long of a name though for it.
