What we do
Human Connections is a start-up social entreprise that hosts educational tours and seminars in Mexico. We create itineraries that allow groups of American college students to learn topics of international development through the experiences of real people.
(For example, imagine you’re a college student and you take a class called Microfinance. Human Connections collaborates with your professor and creates a trip for your class that allows you to see how microfinance works on the ground. You meet Mexican micro-loan borrowers, see their loans in action, and gain a more practical, holistic understanding of the topic you learned in a classroom setting.)
Our mission: connecting people from diverse cultures for an exchange that inspires, educates, and breeds understanding.
Industry: Non-Profit
Things to communicate through the design
1. Interconnected human beings
2. Innovative start-up social enterprise
3. Credibility
The target audience
In this order, our brand needs to appeal to:
1. American college students, age 21-23, studying business, Spanish, or international relations. These are socially-oriented students with an interest in human rights, social entrepreneurship, and/or international economic development.
2. The professors of these students
3. Socially-minded tourists that travel to Mexico
We like these fonts, colors and style
Brand Description:
Clean, crisp, worldly, inventive yet professional. Our brand inspires trust.
Logo Guidelines:
My preference is for the name to be written horizontally (capital H and C, no space: HumanConnections) with the logo image before or interacting with the text. The logo image itself should convey our name and mission of connecting people.
Fonts: I prefer san serif fonts, though I am open to the designer's professional opinion!
Main color: peacock blue.
Possible compliments: brown, coral/red, light green, and/or other tones of blue.
Our design will be used on
(Web) (Print Media) (Billboards & Signs) (Mugs & Tshirts)

We loved the attached logo but it was withdrawn before we could select it. Can you create something similar but with the following differences?
-Use the preferred color scheme shown in the second attachment
-Give the image a stronger overall shape by modifying the shoulder and arm width of the individual figures
We also really love Entry #164. We would prefer it with the following modifications, though:
-Use the preferred color scheme shown in the second attachment
-Simplify it a bit...so that it's easy to print and less fragile
-Several viewers thought this looked too much like a logo for a dating site. Perhaps we can make it look like the figures are collaborating or empowering one another instead.
It seems like trees, leaves, and other natural elements effectively get across our social intentions. We want humans to be depicted in the logo but are open to the use of natural elements, too. These logos are awesome examples:

Simple fonts are best and the words "Human" and "Connections" should be in the same font and size (it's okay if "Human" is bolded though). We are open to the font being written horizontally (HumanConnections) or one word stacked on top of the other. If it's stacked, we would love for the words to line up on the right and for the logo image to fill the negative space on the left (above the "Con" in Connections).
Logos with movement and dynamic coloring, such as shading and a 3D type feel, are most appealing to us. We love the color scheme in the second attachement and would encourage a similar use of color. The logo must look good in duotone, too.
THANK YOU! What a wonderful contest this is. We are very excited about the options so far and look forward to seeing the perfect logo!
