What we do
5 figs is a cooking blog featuring family recipes. It will highlight the fabulous food and restaurants of Napa and Sonoma Counties as well as feature pieces about vineyards, dairies, creameries, orchards, bakeries and farmers markets of the area. There will be travel related features highlighting local ingredients and how the home chef can bring those flavors to their own kitchens. For ex the spice markets of Istanbul and how those ingredients can be brought back home to create delicious Turkish food.

The target audience
My target audience will be women and men that desire to learn more about cooking and how to combine fresh flavors to create meals for family and friends. I will also target those that want to learn more about the beautiful resources of Napa and Sonoma Counties: vineyards, dairies, creameries, orchards, bakeries and farmers markets where I can use those locally sourced items in creating amazing meals. There will be a small portion of my writing that will focus on global flavors as this ties to my heritage and so my audience will be anyone that has a desire to learn more about the foods and ingredients of the world.
We like these fonts, colors and style
I love the fig. Both for the taste and its colors. Deep aubergine, vibrant red of the flesh and mustardy yellow of the seeds. The dark green of the leaves and stem are also beautiful to me. I am looking for a modern text with clean and classic logo design that will include the name 5 figs, I would like Petaluma, California underneath and est 2014 in there as well. I am not looking for an overly colorful logo but again something classic and clean. The site will not be overly formal, but comfortable, warm and inviting with great pictures to highlight the recipes. I included a pic of figs below to show the colors I described above. I prefer a deeper aubergine color than shown.
